This is compared to Catholics teachings and the Golden Rule because it means you shouldn't have said or done anything against your neighbor because you haven't gone through what that person has.

It is like the Golden Rule because is says to treat each others the way you want to be teated and the Cherokee prayer is saying wish bad to others until you have walked on their shoes, to experience what they did. It also applies to the 8th commandment because it says you shall not bare fault witnesses against your neighbor.
