When the nights are dark and the ground is frozen and slick, they can pull some mean tricks on a hound. Sometimes the trick can be fatal. This is an example of forshadowing because Billy remembers the night he was going through was the exact same time granpa had said. It made me feel scared because a coon might play a dirty trick on Bill's hounds.

"Noy being able to hear the voices of my dogs gave me a uncomfortable feeling". This is an exaple of forshadowing because Billy has a feeling tha something wrong is happening to his dogs. It made me feel worried because maybe the coonhad play them a dirty trick. Also, that maybe that one of Billy dogs is in danger.

" I haden't gone far when I heard Old dan. What i heard froze the blood in my veins. He wasen't bawling on a trail or giving the treee a bark. It was one, lond, countinous cry. In his deep voice there seemed to be a pleading cry for help. Scared, dasher, I started toward the sound" This is an example of forshadowing because now Billy knows that one of his dogs is in danger and he goes after the sound to find out what it is. It made me feel worried, frightened, and especially scared. Why, because if I was in Billy's shoes i wouls freak out about what had happened to one of my dogs. Especially hearing that long cry from Old Dan.
