A priceless memory to me means a thought that stays with you forever. This priceless memory never leaves you through out your entire life. One priceless memory that will never leave me in my life time is when i was in 2nd grade and my Mom,Dad,and my two younger sisters Meghan and Kelleen went to the beach during the summer. We had been to the beach before but this trip was special. my dad had brought his surf bord and said when we got there that i would get to surf all by myself. So he lead me into a wave and about the 10th time i tried i surfed all by myself! my dad was so proud and toke me and my family to ice cream and went home. that is a priceless memory to me!

Priceless memories  are considered treasures because you can always keep them in your heart . If something  ever happens to all of your stuff  you will always have your memories  in your heart. It doesn't  matter what physical things you have because nothing is more valuable than your memories.

Response by Jenny Willson

To me Priceless Memories are what you remember, but memories that are worth remembering. They are treasures because you may remember everything good that has happened in your life, or the mistakes that you have made. If you remember the mistakes you made then you will not make them again.

Response by Trevor Wells

To me all memories are priceless because they are things you are going to want to remember when you are older. My favorite priceless memory is when on of my best friends, Ben, invited me and my other friend, kyle, to go to the USC football game. When we where there we made soooo many amazing memories together! This memory is so special to me now because Ben moved away to washington with his family because his dad got offered a job.  That is my priceless memory. :D

Response by Jennifer Harbeck

I think something that is priceless is a memory that will never be forgotten because it was so joyful. A priceless memory that I have is when i went to a beach near pvp. There were hermet crabs EVERYWHERE. It was an amazing sight and I looked down at the sea from a rock I was sitting at it was beautiful.

Response by Maggie Morrison

Memories are priceless because a good memory will last forever, and you never want good memories to go away.A happy memory could never be bought from you so they are priceless memories. My favorite priceless memory is when I first  went to Philadelphia to see my brother and my sister's houses. It is a priceless memory to me because I had never really met my sister and brother and getting to go to their houses to see their children was really exciting. I will always remember playing on my nephews swing set! That memory will always stay with me.

Response by Aiden Blood

I think priceless means that they were great, happy memories. One of my most priceless memories is when I was in Fiji and I kayaked to a deserted island and I found empty snail shells everywhere and tons of oysters on shore it was so cool.

Billy refers to his memories as "priceless treasures". In what ways are memories priceless? What is your favorite priceless memory? Why?

Memories are priceless when they mean a lot t you or your family. Memories are also priceless when they have been passed down for generations, only when they are really important. My priceless memory is when my dad passed away. This is my favorite priceless memory because he is the only dad I got and will ever get. Also because I only got to see my dad for six years. Now I will have to live the rest of my life without my dad.

I think that memories are priceless in two ways. Memories are priceless if you can't put a price on it. Memories are also priceless if you can't repeat them ever again.
My favorite priceless memory is the first time I went to Nicaragua to visit my family. This is my favorite priceless memory because it was the first time I went to another country. It is also my favorite priceless memory because I got to meet my cousins for the first time.

Billy says that "with the help of god" the coon dog would go home,no matter how difficult the journey was he would never give up. Have up you ever faced a challenge that was difficult but you didn't give up? How did god help you through it?

God helped me in a challenge when I try to ride a Rip stick, a skate board that has two wheels at each end and is hold by a metal piece of bar. When I tried to ride it I failed and failed but never gave up because god was their cheering for  me. God help me by keeping my hopes up so I'll never give up thanks to god I kept my hopes. Now I know how to use a Rip stick.

Billy refers to his memories as ' priceless treasures.' In what ways are memories priceless ? what is your favorite priceless memory ? why?

My favorite priceless was the things that my cousin Cynthia gave me before she past away . The things  that she gave me i will always keep it in my heart . It is really important to me because every day and every minute i remember her for life . Some ways of memories priceless are when someone past away of best cousin , best friend , and best uncles . Why because every time you will always think about them when you use to play with them like evry time when you came back from school or somewhere else.

Memories can be priceless in many ways but the first one is that it means a lot to you.My favorite priceless memory is my first communion. It is priceless because  I waited for that day for four years. It seemed as if it were a dream. That is my priceless memory.

How I compare that to the Golden rule or to the cherokee prayer. Is that you need to treat everybody like you what to be treated. And  the cherokee prayer sounds like one of our 10 commandments, and in fact it is the 9th commandment (You shall not bear false witness testimony  against your neighbor)!!!!
How would I walk  in some else's shoes'. Is by putting me in there place and go thru the problems they are probably facing. So that's how  I would put my self in some else's shoes.

Response by Mathew Hernandez

" To be in some body else's shoes"

I would feel very sad if I live in a reck house.I am happy because I don't live in a reck house. Back

in the day people didn't have there own room or bed.  They didn't have no school like we do.

They didn't have any phones like we do. We have school supply's unlike  the old days. With

school supply's you can draw or write on any thing except for water. We have free water we just

have to pay for it. We have clothing, but the old days had clothing it's just that they have ripped

up clothes.

Response by Austin Campos

How would I fill to walk in someone ?

It would probably  depend on their life style. If they have a good life style, a good future would take that chance because every thing would just be great.

But if they take a wrong path I would not because that is not the path I would not like to take because I would make mistakes probably just like they made mistakes

Response by Edith Ruiz

My response is that the golden rule and the Cherokee prayer are almost the same thing because it tells you that you should respect the people around you and not to mistreat them.

response by Brandon Ramirez

The golden rule is the same as the prayer because they  both tell us to respect others and to not hate them or hurt  them. I walk a mile in some else's shoe by helping one another like helping them in homework or cleaning up trash.

response by Sonia Erazo

This is compared to Catholics teachings and the Golden Rule because it means you shouldn't have said or done anything against your neighbor because you haven't gone through what that person has.

It is like the Golden Rule because is says to treat each others the way you want to be teated and the Cherokee prayer is saying wish bad to others until you have walked on their shoes, to experience what they did. It also applies to the 8th commandment because it says you shall not bare fault witnesses against your neighbor.

Response by Martha Flores

What i think is that you always need to respect other people and there body before hurting them.

What i can do when i walk in some ones shoes is to think how they feel and want to be treated.

I have already read this book in Fourth grade. I know that is very sad but also an amazing book. I think the quote means that people who do not know anything about history and if you do not learn from it you will repeat it. To stop the great depression from repeating itself the bank needs to stop giving out loans and making everyone owe money. I also think people should use their money more wisely instead of using it on just anything that they will almost never use.

Response by Tessa McNeil

I have already read this book, so I know how it ends.  I thought it was an amazing book, but also very sad.

Simon Stauber

I read this book in 4th grade and I thought it was an incredible book.  It was exciting and then touching, creative and then awfully sad. Overall, this book was phenomenal. The ending makes you feel excruciating sadness.

Response by Kelly Byrne

What this quote means to me is that we made a big mistake in the Great Depression but we should learn from our mistakes.  Just by learning why the Great Depression took place we can know never to fall in those footsteps. To prevent another Great Depression the bank should stop making loans to people and they should save all the extra money they have instead of spending on things we don't need.

Response by Covi Brannan

I have never read the book or seen the movie Where The Red Fern Grows so this material is very new to me. I enjoy that this book captures the aspect of childhood and the simple longings and pleasures that undergo it. I hope this book continues to capture me in it's spell. Happy reading!

Response by Connor Lucier

I have seen the movie and read the book "Where the Red Fern Grows" and it is a great story and movie.  Although the story can be very sad in some parts, it can also be very exciting and joyful in other parts.  Great Story!!!

This is a great book. I have already read the book so I know how amazing it is! This book made me laugh, cry, and just all around feel great! I hope you will enjoy reading this book; I know I did!

Response by: Jillian Parks

Today I just started Where the Red Fern Grows. Even though I am only on page 11, the book is very interesting and I enjoy it so far. I have seen the movie and since it was very sad, I am scared to read the book knowing it will also be sad.

What I think this quote means is that since back then the people did mistakes and if we don't learn from these mistakes, it means we didn't learn from them and were often to repeat them.

What the United States need to do to prevent another "Great Depression" is to stop loaning money and make the people pay for what they owe.

Practice Question for SLB Students

Thursday Night Homework:

George Santayana wrote: “Those who cannot learn from history are doomed to repeat it.”

What does this quote mean to you and what do you think the U.S. needs to do to prevent our country from repeating a Great Depression like state?
