response by Jessica Arruda

no because Rubin would be in more pain and the bleeding would be hard to stop the way i would feel would be what do i do leave him there to die or help him i would try to do every thing i can for him but there would be no hope for Rubin.

Response by Eric Lopez

I would toke out the ax because no one has to die with a big ax in him. It is the right thing to do.
If I was Billy I would fant first and then after I woke up then I would pull out the ax and say a pray that he would be fine when he reached heaven. The memory of Rubin would haunt me forever. I would never sleep. It would get so bad I would have to see a doctor.  I might forget it but it might take forever.

By Duncan Mckinnon

I would not take the ax out of Rubin because I would think that he would be in more pain then he acually is and that he would have a better chance of dieing if I did take the ax out of him because all the blood would just come rushing out of him and he would die of lose of blood. And last reason is because I would have the memory stuck in my head for my hole life and would havce nightmares about it

by Sullivan Lyons

Yes i would take out the ax but very slowly. If i was Billy i would be shocked to see someone that young get killed.

Response by Jonathan Paetzold

No I would not take the ax out because the ax would be bloody.  I would feel weird because I would see some one get killed.

I wouldn't take the ax out of Rubin for a few reasons actually.  1. If I did then he would have no chance of living because all the blood would come out 2. I would have to have that memory for the rest of my life.  I would watch that scene over and over and just the feeling of taking out the ax. And 3. If I took out the ax it might put Rubin in more pain then he was in.  I could accidentally cut him even more than I expected and that cut could make him die.

Response by Matthew Reilly

I would not take out the ax because that is not what you are supposed to do. You are supposed to leave it in or else all the blood would gush out and he would die anyway of blood loss. I learned this from a lifeguard. I would feel as if it was all my fault.

MOLLY BROWN 6A!!!!

I can't even think of what I would do if I was in Billy's position...... But I would be terrified, scared, guilty because it was my ax, and I would probably even cry. Even though Rubin isn't one of my good friends or not really even a friend I would be so sad but if Rubin told me he wanted me to take the ax out of him I would because that's all I really could do for him other than getting help. :(

Response by Anna Blake

If I was in Billy's position, it would be scared to death!  If anyone was put in that position, no one would ever know what the right thing to do was.  The sight of someone dying such a painful death is unbearable and I do not know what I would do if I were Billy.
I would not lay a finger on that ax.  Terrifying.  I would probably be the speechless one.  I mean, it's good to respect wishes at the final minutes, but an ax? Gross.  If I was Billy, which I'm not, I would never forgive myself.  I would run to get help and have somebody else do it.  Yikes.  I would probably cry or even hurl...I would blame myself.

Response by Alyssa Casio-Togle

I wouldn't take the ax out because I  would feel the blood rush on to me but i would if that would've helped Rubin.  I would feel so terrified, shocked, and scared all at the same time. Sorry if that makes you wobbly knee.

response by ryan

I would not take out the ax. I would leave him there and tell someone to help us. If I were Billy I would feel so sad and scared and guilty because it was my fault that he was dead and that memory would follow me my whole life.

Response by Aiden Blood

I would not take out the ax because he might of lived.  I would run as fast as I could to get help and not go hunting for a while.

Response by Jason Martinez

If i were Billy, I would have slowly taken the axe out, being careful not to move it around to much, and done my best to make sure that he would survive. When I would see that Rubin had  an axe stuck in him.... I would have been completely flabbergasted. I would have so much shock to me because I would of know that he would probably die and I would have to just watch. I would have gotten help as quickly as possibly and hoping that he would survive

Response by Caleigh Smith

If i were Billy i would have not taken the ax out of Rubin because i hate the sight of blood and i feel as if i am going to pass out for a week if a even see a drop of blood!!!!!!!!!

By Stephen Mayer

I would not take the ax out because I would have fainted at the sight of blood and I would feel like throwing up after seeing the blood gushing out and I would never touch the ax again .

Response by Jenny Willson

I would pull the ax out of Rubin. If someone were to die I think they should die peacefully. If i were Billy I would feel ashamed about the ax incident. It would be traumatizing  to see what Billy saw. I would pull out the ax not to keep it, but to be a good person even though everyone in town hates the Pritchard boys.

Response by Jennifer Harbeck

I would pull the axe out of Rubin, it would be the least I could do. If I didn't I would feel guilty for the rest of my life. Doing Rubin's last wish for him would make me feel better, but it would still be very sad. Seeing someone die right in front of me would be by far one of the saddest things I would ever experience.

Response by Maggie Morrison

I if I were Billy I would take the ax out of Rubin. It would be the least I could do for him since he was passing away. I would feel like the accident was partly my fault, that I could have kept Rubin from taking the ax and then he wouldn't have fallen on it and killed himself. I would also feel terrible and probably throw-up from the horrible accident had just witnessed. It would've been the worst thing I have seen in my entire life! There is nothing more terrible than being killed and witnessing someone dying. I would do anything to make sure Rubin survived. I would feel horrible and sick and I would've gone strait to Rubin's parents and told them the accident I had just witnessed. I would bring flowers and cookies and a card to Rubin's family and I would probably help them around their house. The poor family would probably be crying for hours, I would probably cry for hours!
If I was Billy I would take the ax out as Rubin's final wishes.  I would probably be angry at myself for even going up in the woods, because then Rubin wouldn't have died.  I also would hate the fact that I brought death and sorrow upon a family.

If I were Billy, yes I would have taken out the ax that was stuck in Rubin.  I would have felt horrible though, seeing an ax in him.  And if I were Billy I would have felt scared about what to do because it is very rare to see someone with an ax in them.

Responded by: Tessa Allen

If I were Billy I would have felt terrible but I would have taken the ax out of Rubin because that was his last wish. I would have wanted to make him as happy as possible before he died. I would feel terrible and I probably would have thrown up but I would have done what was needed to help Rubin feel well.

Response by Connor Lucier

If I were Billy I would've taken the ax out of Rubin, granting his last request. I would've felt awful if I were Billy, especially if I were him when he saw that Rubin was dying.  I would've done whatever I could've to help Rubin before he died, even if that included taking the ax out of him, although  have to admit I would've been hesitant in doing so.  But still, I would go as far as I needed to go to help someone in need.

Response by Covi Brannan

If I were Billy I would have taken the ax out of Rubin. Being in the presence of a dying boy, the least I could do would be granting his last request and easing  his pain. Yet still I would be horrified if I were in that position; that image of Rubin's icy, bloody body would haunt me forever. I would know it wasn't my fault (or my grandpa's fault) that Rubin died, but it would be hard not to let the guilt settle in.

Nolan Sharp

I would take it out because it was the least I could do since his life was coming to an end.  If I was Billy I would feel good that I did what Rubin asked of me to help him before he died.

Response by Kelly Byrne

If I was Billy I would take the ax out of Rubin.  I would be definitely be frightened because I would be all alone with a dying boy.  I would take out the ax because maybe it would be the last thing Rubin said in his life.  I would remember that moment when blood gushed out his mouth and then fell to the ground cold as ice for the rest of my life.  I would not blame myself or grandpa but I would do whatever I could to help his family live through the tough times.  I would not want to be in that situation though.  It would take a lot just to gain the courage.

Response by Simon Stauber

If I were Billy and Rubin told me to take and ax out of him, I probably wouldn't out of fear. I would run away in tears thinking it was all my fault and then realize that I should have done it after he died.

Response by Tessa McNeil

If  I were Billy, I would take the ax out, but I would be very scared to do it because if someone were talking to me with blood coming out of his mouth and an ax in his side that would be creepy. But even if I was scared, I would feel like I had to do it because it was his last request before he died.

Response by Duncan Rowland

If I was Billy I would take the ax out of Rubin because he wanted it to happen and it was is last request and it wouldn't be that hard to and he is already dead so it wouldn't hurt Rubin at all. I would feel very scared, sad and maybe a little guilty. I would feel that way because just seeing some one fall on an ax die with blood coming out of his mouth as he tried to talk would make me scared and sand and I would feel guilty because it would partly my fault that He was dead because if I didn't go to the forest and become so eager to catch the coon Old Dan and Little Ann wouldn't have fought with the Old blue tick hound.

rubin had a ax in him billy was shocked of seeing rubin. Would youtake out the ax ? yes or no? how would you feel if you where billy?

I would not take out the ax out of rubins stomach. The main reason is that he can lose a lot of blood and die. If I was billy i would fell guilty of rubins death. Also scared if the police will take me to jail. Also feel all alone no one to talk to at all.

Response by Heriberto Maldonado

Rubin had ax in his stomach/chest Billy was was shocked of seeing Rubin. Would you take out the ax ? Yes or No? How would you feel, like Billy?

I would take out the ax. Because you he is already dead. I know blood will come out of stomach. So what is the point having to ax in his stomach . It will be a bad experience but I answer his last request.

I would feel scare because I'm alone which is scary. I will be so sad and why will his brother leave. So at the same time I will be confused. Dead person on the left, and on the right brother that left for the place.

Response Austin Campos

Jourel Entrie : When Billy made the bet with Rannie , if you were Billy would you make the bet why or why not . Also if you saw somebody trip and fall on a axe pearcing half of his body what would you do .

First of all I would make the bet b/c someone who thinks there it I would finally prove them wrong and trie to make them see they are not better or perfect. Also if some one was dying befor myeyes i would set write there tell death or if they have a chace of iving i would run my fastest to help

Rubin had ax in his stomach/chest Billy was very shocked of seeing Rubin. Would you take out the ax?yes or no? How would you feel if you were Billy?

If I was Billy I would of been shocked not just shoked but surprised of seeing Rubin with a ax in stomach/chest.If Rubin ask me to take out the ax,I would not take out the ax because the blood might gush out like a gush candy. I would feel very sad not just sad but gillty .

In ch.11 ,something bad happens to little An. Reread the chapter and look for and read 3 comments/sentencesthat foreshadows this event.Explain how each statement was an example of forshadowing. How did they make you feel?

Little Ann started Whining and begging for help. This is an example of foreshadowing because it reflects that Little Ann is in trouble;it made me feel bad because she couldn't get out of the freezing water. Then I saw her. This is an example of foreshadowing because it tellsus that Billy found his dog;it made me fell happy that Billy saw her that way he could help Little Ann.With my pole i fished the lantern back to the bank. This foreshadows that he is a brave boy because even though he doesn't have the right equipment he improves by using something different;it made me feel proud of him.

Sometimes, doing the most simple plan or idea is the best way. I.e. during school, I do my homework, simple as it is , and almost always get a good overall grade just by doing even the most simple homework.

Response by Kelly Byrne

Definitely!! Sometimes when I'm not doing the best I can in an event or sport I hear my family cheering me on and I feel better and I preform much better.  A little thing such as cheering for someone can make a whole lot of a difference to that person. :)

Response By Connor Lucier

I got good results from doing something simple during school football season.  Since it is flag football, you have to pick a flag that fits you and stays on you well.  But every flag I took was either too small or fell off when I started running.  So I came to a decision to try my brother's old flag that he used in the previous football season and WOW.  It was so much different that almost no one on the team could pull my flag off and they even thought that I was cheating by tying it so no one could pull it off.

Sometimes by doing a very simple move in soccer you can get by a player. Sometimes doing what is simple is doing what is right!

By Jillian Parks

I got good results when doing something simple when one time I was doing a book report and I wanted to do a great book.  But since my teacher said I couldn't do it on a book I already read I had to pick a different book; that book was horrible but at least I got a good grade, right?

Response by Covi Brannan

Once I had a big diarama due for my Language Arts class. I had this HUGE idea in my head of what I was going to do but I didn't have that kind of time. So instead I did a simple, detailed project and got an A!

Response by Duncan Rowland

Yes, when I got a math test back and i had a worse grade than the one mr. mac gave me and the grade I got was the better grade

Response by Tessa McNeil

one of my favorite parts is when Little Ann falls into the river, and Billy saves her, because it shows how much Billy cares for his dogs, and would do anything for them.

Response by Greg Regan

Once, I was playing tennis when I hit a simple shot and won the match.
